Tonkotsu King ( Four Seasons) - Bugis

Tonkotsu King ( Four Seasons)

Located at one of the busiest area of  Singapore, Bugis, Tonkotsu King ( Four Seasons) target younger crowd and is different theme compare to other 3 Singapore branches – Crab Broth Ramen at Millenia Walk, Tontotsu King at Orchid Hotel and Tori King at Amara Hotel. This Ramen shop serves 4 distinct flavours base on 4 seasons of the year, each have their own unique flavours, referring to the broth of course.

The shop can be found at Bugis Village, between KFC and MacDonald, in the middle of shops selling clothing and toiletries. The shop is quite small, hence do expect a long queue during peak hours. Queuing outside in the hot and humid Singapore is really a nightmare.

4 different seasons, 4 unique flavours in different bowls

All necessaries are catered for on the table, feel free to make yourself at home

Sesame for grinding, to eat with the ramen

Pickled bean sprouts and boiled eggs are complimentary, but be careful of high cholesterol if eat too many eggs

One set for one pax

Menu

Spring and Summer selection - The Spring Ramen ($11.90) served in cherry blossom bowls is prinked with basil and parmesan cheese to resemble Spring. The broth is thick and full of flavour. Recommended to cheese lovers and those who prefer heavy flavoured preference.

Summer ($13.90) is the spicy flavour.  Not recommended to those who do not take spicy food.

Autumn ($12.90) is made with assorted mushrooms.

The Winter bowl ($10.90) has its broth thick and full of pork flavours. Highly recommended to try this first.

The menu option also allows you to adjust the broth's taste, the noodle hardness and toppings which you want and those that you do not. It is recommended to choose those under normal and all topping to taste more authentic Japanese Ramen.

Green Tea Cola - Coke feel with a zest of green tea flavour. Certainly must try, you will be surprise by the combinations.

Winter Ramen with Full toppings - Yummy!! Pork meats and sliced bacons is cooked just right, tender and soft, easy to chew, noodles is not hard too. More importantly is the broth, although look thick, but it actually easy to drink and you are able to taste the sweetness of the meat. I guess the broth must have been boiled for very long to achieve this taste.

Autumn Ramen - Full of mushroom and bonito taste. Easy to eat but do not order this if you cant take much of bonito.

Verdict: 4 / 5

Price: $19 per pax

Service is quite fast, the food served to me is hot and cooked at the right timing. Crew are attentive and helpful. Yummy food to begin with and there is free flow of eggs and beansprouts, whats more to expect right?

However, i find the price abit high, but definitely worth it if you really like pork and ramen.

I will certainly be back again.
