Hong Yun Seafood 鸿运小厨 - Toa Payoh

Hong Yun Seafood 鸿运小厨

Located at Toa Payoh, Hong Yun Xiao Chu is a zi cha venue at Toa Payoh which is famous for their dry white beehoon. It is usually packed during dinner time and especially night time. You will need to find a table before you order or you can ask for a waiting table at their ordering counter. There are indoor air conditional room for their customers.

White Bee Hoon ($6 medium) - this a dry version of white beehoon which is often compared with the popular wet version of white beehoon at Sembawang. Generous serving of prawns, squid, pork, eggs and pork lard are stir-fried together with the white beehoon. This dish is highly recommended for those who favours pork lard, but not for the health conscious group as it is very oily. Personally i dont really like the food here as i cant really stand oily food. But i recommended it to those who like lard. You will be satisfied by the food here.

Prawn roll ($7 small) - Large cubes of prawn roll stuffed with minced pork and prawn and small bits of chestnuts. Crispy on the outside and the filling taste not too bad.

Overall experience with this zi cha place is satisfactory except that dishes are on the oily side.

Verdict: 3/5
